The Metal Seated Double Offset Flanged Butterfly Valve operates on a sophisticated principle. Its primary feature is the double eccentricity (or offset) of the disc. The first offset positions the stem axis behind the disc's seating plane, while the second offset positions it off-center from the pipeline's centerline. This innovative design ensures that the disc only contacts the metal seat in the final few degrees of closure and opening, virtually eliminating sliding friction during 90% of its operation. This translates to significantly reduced wear on the sealing surfaces, lower operating torque, and a dramatically extended valve lifecycle. The metal seating surfaces, often hardened or coated with specialized materials like Stellite, provide excellent resistance to erosion, corrosion, and high temperatures, guaranteeing zero leakage and dependable performance over thousands of cycles.
